Kita-Karuizawa is located at north of Karuizawa where used to be famous for the place of retreat.
It's about 1100 elevation here and the air is pretty clear. There are many abandoned places, deserted buildings around here. The whole town has Japan's post bubble economy nostalgic feeling.
